Your Second Chance at France to Meet some of the Industry’s Most Creative
by Jessica Nin
If you happened to miss going on a trip to France for the Cannes Film Festival last month, you have another shot to head on over. The Cannes Lions is coming up soon from June 17-23. Each year more than 9000 members of the creative communications industries come together to get inspired and educated at Cannes Lions. Guest speakers such as Bill Clinton will be in attendance, along with the Cannes 2012 Media Person of the Year, Twitter’s CEO, Jack Dorsey- and that’s only the beginning. With all the events, panels and creative minds at this year’s festival- seems like we found a perfect excuse to jet set to France.
The Mobile Marketing Association (MMA) will be joining Cannes for the first time this year, being that the festival will include Mobile Marketing as a new and distinct category. Cannes organizers say they think this is one of the most exciting programs they have heard of at this event to date. The program will be a combo of innovative and creative ways to draw attention to the power of Mobile Marketing.
TechTalk is yet another first for the fest, a brand new content stream focusing on the latest technological innovation. It’s geared towards forward-thinking businesses to demonstrate work across the digital-marketing world, while allowing others the opportunity to meet the people behind the technology. TechTalk provides valuable insight and facts on the technologies that the communications industry needs to know in order to keep up.
If it happens to be your first time attending, (along with all these other firsts at the fest) no worries. Cannes Lions can introduce you to the different events and panels from an expert every morning. You must admit, any new event can at times seem confusing, but with this opportunity – you can find the best way to maximize your experience with help from a Cannes Lions veteran. Plus, there will also be a networking opportunity at the Cannes Lions Connect Bar, providing attendees from across the globe to meet up, network and relax in a fun and casual setting.
For nearly 60 years, the Cannes Lions Awards have set the benchmark for excellence in the world of creative communications, and we can’t wait to hear about all the new advances made this year that will trickle on to the next.
